More About DITUG image
The Detroit IT User Group (DITUG) is managed by a voluntary Board consisting of founding members, advisory members and committees. The board changed the name of the group from the Focus: HOPE IT User Group to the Detroit IT User Group (DITUG) in March of 2012. DITUG’s first meeting was on November 3, 2007.

This general IT User Group has been formed to bring together current technology students and alumni, technology and network professionals, IT educators and educational support staff and SMB owners, managers and support personnel within the metropolitan Detroit area in an effort to explore and understand new and emerging technologies and IT services, i.e. Cloud Technologies and Services, Virtualization, NAS, Wi-Fi/WiMAX, Web 2.0, Managed Services, etc. The group invites speakers and members of the IT community to share their insight and experience in these areas by way of presentations and demonstrations.

In March of 2009, DITUG became a chapter of the Professional Association of SQL Server (PASS) and developed a Special Interest Group (SIG) by way of virtual meetings for System Center, SharePoint and SQL Server in an effort to provide education for its members in the SharePoint and SQL Server technologies and to provide its member the additional benefits of being affiliated with PASS and the SQL Server Worldwide Users Group (SSWUG). DITUG also has virtual meetings in the form of self-study groups and hosts webinars on sponsor products and services utilizing Skype for Business in an Office 365 subscription provided by Microsoft.
Since April 2012, DITUG has used an Office 365 subscription provided by Microsoft for hosting its public website and its "board members only" SharePoint sites and groups.

DITUG meets online on selected Saturdays of the month from 9:30 am to 11:30 pm, unless noted otherwise. The requirement for membership is that attendance to at least one on-site or online meeting is required and that membership is requested. There are no dues for membership. We do encourage donations for refreshments at on-site meetings when held and ask our members to support our Community initiatives during the year, i.e. the ACS Relay for Life, the Focus: Hope Annual Eleanor's Walk for HOPE.

Locations and directions to the on-site meetings appear in the event registration.
